The Soulmate vicinity
ย
I don’t want us to be something known,
something captured and clipped
to remind the blindfolded beauty
of rustic landscapes
of bedrooms and hotel door numerology;
let us instead be
the quota of French-kissed clouds,
the inhaling and exhaling
of breaths, mingled,
a vacuumed scream
sung like a hymn to the throat
without a reason why.

I don’t want us to be something told,
a used train ticket in a suitcase
watching the Alpha and Omega fall apart,
everything and nothing de-fragmented
as means and alleyways of affection
while the ourborous lusts for itself;
I want us to be the lines instead
traveling perpetually through the dot,
an infinity enjoying its own yearning
to be complete,
undivided to scabs and breadcrumbs
and without the necessity to fear
and honor the body
as the only timekeeper
of our passion.

Let us not dress up as
Eros and Thanatos
and narrow down
the spectrum of love
into a burning affliction
of a single tango
danced out like a lament
before the ticking clock,
instead let us take
our thousand deaths
and thousand rebirths
and make them meaningless
before the unity of our two souls,
that never needs to aspire
to becoming
anything better.

I don’t want us to be something old,
no.
I don’t want us to be the zeal
drowning in an expiration date,
like a carton of milk
or the enticing aerobatics
of the insect in the cobwebs
as the last trace of a pulse;
We are the silence of the caress
in the secrecy of transcended pain,
the esoteric wavelength of the astral flesh
and words bled for the continuum
and I want us to Be.

Blizina Srodne dushe

Ne zelim da budemo neshto poznato,
neshto ulovljeno i potkresano
da podseti lepotu povezanih ochiju
na rustichne pejzaze
spavacih soba i numerologiju hotelskih vrata;
hajde da umesto toga budemo
kvota oblaka francuski poljubljenih,
udisanje i izdisanje
daha, pomeshanog,
vakumirani vrisak
otpevan kao himna grlu
bez da zna zashto.

Ne zelim da budemo neshto izrecheno,
iskorishcena vozna karta u koferu
koja posmatra raspad Alfe i Omege,
sve i nishta defragmentisano
u sredstva i ulichice privrzenosti
dok orboros zudi za samim sobom;
Zelim da umesto toga budemo linije
koje vechito putju kroz tachku,
beskraj koji uziva u sopstvenoj ceznji
da bude potpun,
nepodeljen na kraste i mrvice hleba
u bez potrebe da strahuje
i odaje chast telu
kao jedinom vremenskom merilu
nashe strasti.

Ne oblachimo se kao
Eros i Tanatos
i ne suzavajmo
spektar ljubavi
u gorucu aflikciju
jednog tanga
otplesanog kao da je lament
pred satom koji otkucava;
umesto toga uzmimo
nashish hiljadu smrti
i hiljadu novih rodjenja
i uchinimo ih beznachajnim
pred celinom nashe dve dushe,
koja nikada ne mora da stremi
da postane
ishta bolje.

Ne zelim da budemo neshto staro,
ne.
Ne zelim da budemo zar
koji se davi u datumu isteka,
kao karton mleka
ili mamljive akrobacije
insekta u pauchini
kao poslednji znak pulsa;
mi smo tishina dodira
u tajnosti prevazidjenog bola,
ezoterichna talasna duzina astralnog tela
i rechi iskrvarene za kontinuum
i ja zelim da Budemo.

  1. “Ourborous” – now there’s a word you don’t see every day (outside of repeats of Red Dwarf that is).

    • Everyone seems to depict it as something that repeats and ends where it began, but at times they forget to see that it is a snake eating it’s own tail to continue living.

  2. Awesome picture with this write.

  3. Oloriel. Soooooo well written. I’m in awe by your gift for words. Such an inspiration….your poetry seems to be the only poetry that speaks to me lately.

  4. Yet again, my dear Oloriel, another amazing poem of yours. I think what really captivates me about how you write is your use of mythology, ancient feel to it, interesting allegories, that make your poetry stand out so much.
    My favourite bit:
    “let us instead be
    the quota of French-kissed clouds,
    the inhaling and exhaling
    of breaths, mingled,
    a vacuumed scream
    sung like a hymn to the throat
    without a reason why.”
    You are simply amazing. One of the few people on WP I totally look up to.

    • I live and hope to see everyone in the arms of their soul mate, where my lines will no longer reminisce of mythology, but reality ๐Ÿ˜€

  5. Oh my, it’s really amazing.. have read it already 4 times to see something new every time. Stunning!!

  15. Oloriel this is absolutely stunning, all of it.
    a vacuumed scream
    sung like a hymn to the throat
    without a reason why.
    You have such an amazing talent, it flowed and ebbed and the imagery was perfect.

  16. and i’m sitting here mouth agape, yes. i think i’m in awe of this poem.
    and as i usually have words at the ready, i find myself having none…..

    • I am always happy to see your words and I must say it brings me joy to know that one time at least, some time, somewhere, I have left someone breathless with what I had to say.

    saw your comment at dverse and i hope when you are ready you will join in the fun…look forward to that…smiles.

    • Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed reading it. it is this that I plan on sharing at dVerse,after I am done reading other people’s work:)
      The poem was in part inspired by so many people I see just wanting to pierce love with a pin, trim it,then stick it inside a herbarium of sorts, thinking it will still stay alive.

  22. Just to be…that’s all there is in the end…enjoyed your journey to being! ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. i’m stunned. this is so..soulful, truthful..whole..truly, truly poetic. glad i’ve discovered you, i’ll return for more and more reads for sure~~~

  24. great.. smooth flow.. a nice rhythm.. thought-provoking and heart-touching theme.. and the words you would want to meet up with again.. I liked your creation.. a lot. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you for your kind words, I am delighted to hear always what something I write provokes someone to think of and especially do they enjoy the rhytm.

  25. Wow. I was so drawn into the emotion and imagery of your writing. So expressive and thought-provoking. Once upon a time, I had a love like this. Now, I have a beautiful memory.

    • Thank you very much for reading and sharing your memories with me, I feel very blessed to hear of something as precious as that.

  26. So very beautiful… I’m in awe.

  27. you have unfurled the whisper of being
    going past the hearing and seeing
    there is no end or beginning of the flame
    burning through infinity in the souls where love cannot be tamed
    when connected within the spirit of the soul
    you are neither divided in half of the two that makes one whole
    the two were always entwined and melted into love
    passion, a kiss, a hand to hold in the state of plenty of
    each moment that one breathes the same breath
    you realize the flame takes you to an endless depth
    where in sadness, joy, together, and apart within time and space
    there is nothing more that will complete, than a smile upon their face

    your thoughts are how I am within this journey with my twinflame/soulmate
    even in perfection of the imperfection one will know fear sometimes
    and then its the other one that holds the flame and memories of all the forevers within the heart till it is time to “Be” again….

    amazing and full of heart languages truth in your words today…
    Take Care….You Matter…….

    • I am deepy honored to recieve this comment. Everything that you wrote is very true and we are both on this journey, which feels very beautiful and special and most defenatly extraordinary, which reminds me often to feel joy from Being.

  28. A beautifully written piece, Oloriel!

  29. Oloriel, some excellent phrasing here. I am big on using words to their utmost. You certainly deliver in a beautiful package. Very nice work.

  30. ah true…love has to be something living, breathing…a bit outside the lines to stay alive and fresh…love your images – and glad you jumped in and linked up with us…smiles and welcome again

    • I am very glad, yes!
      Indeed, love can and should be anything lovely and not pre-defined. I am glad you enjoyed reading my poem ๐Ÿ˜€

  31. Great imagery, as usual. Particularly love this:
    “the inhaling and exhaling
    of breaths, mingled,
    a vacuumed scream
    sung like a hymn to the throat
    without a reason why.”

  32. a thoroughly beautiful poem. Love the “definitions by negative”: give the whole a real sense of belonging, somehow.

  33. Hi 66;

    that’s all i can say. ๐Ÿ™‚

    except;

    We have something in common;

    we both started a journey in March.

    I Am in awe of your writing.

    seriously…

    Synchronicity

  34. fantastic poem! sorry for being absent so long, hope you are well, kind regards from Baldy ๐Ÿ™‚

  35. Brilliant Oloriel – yours is a rare gift indeed ! x RL

  36. instead let us take our thousand deaths and rebirths and fuse…
    wow. you make me want to take more accountability for my own poetry.

    you are a brave poet!

    • Hearing something like this really warms me up inside, I am happy to hear my words and their composition and the emotion I try to convey are able to reach somebody and inspire!

  37. “let us instead be
    the quota of French-kissed clouds”

    Marvellous… Thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful piece of writing !

    • Thank you, for visiting, reading and leaving me a word of your own and I am glad I was able to provide you with imagery to enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

  38. im speechless… you have no idea how deeply i relate to what u have written here… sigh

  39. Love the Eros and Thanatos allusion …

    • Thank you for taking time to leave me a word of your own, I am glad you liked that allusion,it is one of those which cooked up this whole poem ๐Ÿ™‚

  40. Your words leave me breathless!

  41. This is a winner! I reblogged it a while back and shared it with a would be …lover:)

  42. Another amazing find here… your words are so beautiful.

  43. Wow! I love this gorgeous, flawless jewel! I love the elegant and the everyday mixed blend, like the carton of milk, then beauty of ‘the esoteric wavelength of the astral flesh’. I loved the cadence-hypnotic, and most of all, the lovely yearning desire to be known in the unknown. Thank you, poet! And thanks for the follow! I am honoured.

    • Thank you very much for taking time to read and leave me a word of your own. I am very glad you liked the cadence of this piece, it tells me that I have in a way managed to capture exactly what I wanted in the poem.
      I am looking forward to reading your stuff ๐Ÿ™‚
