Tempest

“Tempest”

Mixed Media / September 2022

One of my newest works, sharing it because I like it, even though it was pointed out to me by first onlookers in the household that the work is dark and creepy. I am interested to hear other thoughts. I can agree in some ways, but I believe that we should sometimes, as creators, not stray purposefully from dark and eerie work.

  1. I’d say it’s more dramatic than scary. Really good, too.

    1. Thank you, Richard, I value your opinion a lot!

    1. Thank you, really glad to hear you enjoy the artwork! ❤

  3. This is beautiful! Sometime times I write dark poems and readers accuse me of being negative. But we are artists and we see the world differently each day. Why try to hide it. Poetry, painting, music are based on truth. I agree with you!

    1. Thank you very much for your words! It happens to me with poems as well. I think all creators hear it.

  4. The artwork seems simple yet so intriguing that I can not get my eyes off of it. Don’t understand a lot about artwork but this one’s just grabbed my attention and now all I am is just a prisoner to its beauty and simplicity.

    1. Thank you very much for your kind words; I am glad you enjoyed the artwork!

About Me

I don’t mind the sun sometimes,
the images it shows,
I can taste you on my lips
and feel you in my clothes.
Cinnamon and sugary
and softly spoken lies,
you never know just how you look
through other people’s eyes
