Casanova

“Casanova”

Casanova”Mixed media, sometime in 2020-2021

Just a simple piece I don’t even remember when I worked on correctly, that I thought I’d share about. I like the simplicity and possibility of thought with it – I find it dark but pleasantly soothing?

As always, do feel free to tell me what it reminds you of or what it makes you think about and I hope impending February is treating you kind.

  1. It’s blood. The hue is exact. She seems happy to be bloodied though.

    1. Manja, so great to read from you, hope you are doing well! ❤
I can see the blood yes, possibly enhanced by the swirl of all the roses. It does make me think about something that I am quite sure everyone thought of at one point: what would the connotations be if Casanova was female?

      1. Ha! Indeed. I’m fine, and always glad to see you post.

  2. Dark is often pleasantly soothing. 😉 It reminds me very much of YOU. A matador! The beast-whisperer. Let’s not do you an injustice by saying matadorita, or matadoresa (yes I just made that up) but you get my drift. You’re a fakking MATADOR. That’s all I have to say about it. 😁

    1. Actually I do have something else to say. 😅 First, I adore the title! I noticed there’s only one S, and in Spanish that would translate to New House, or…something close to it (casa nueva); but that may be Italiano. 😉 I don’t necessarily see the subject (or shall we say, participant) as bloodied, as much as I do, the revelation of the heart and its substance that can only be revealed to others over many years, and, the viewer can only see it with their/our heart’s eyes. x Beautiful, O. ❤️

      1. Honestly, it was a grammatical error on my part, but I sometimes tend to leave them like that so they are their own creation. I also like that, after you wrote this, it reminded me of how a person, to us and to themselves, can be a home and a garden. Thank you so much for taking a peak and my lil’ old art ❤

    2. Somehow, I like the way Matadorita sounds, almost as if it describes one who is small yet lethal – and I am short and can be feisty 😀

      1. Oh yes you can be. 😂 But is there any other way to be?!

  3. Reblogged this on sketchuniverse and commented:
HELLO DEARS ! AS YOU ALREADY KNOW, ART MADE WITH MIXED TECHNIQUE HAS NOT LIMITS.

    1. Thank you very much for the reblog! ❤

      1. Dear Oloriel, the merit is yours and your work deserves the best sharing. Congrats! 🤍🦢🤍

  4. to me, it looks like you can see right under/through the person’s skin, even though they are covering up. we can see through them, literally.

    1. Thank you very much for stopping by Beth, and telling me what the artwork makes you see. What you wrote associates me to the quote :”The clothes do not make a man”, and I completely agree with it.
I also like the notion that, no matter how much we try to hide and suppress our own vulnerability, it will still stay there and hopefully be visible to those who look at us with good intentions, kindness and love.

  5. This is awesome! Saw You over on Sketch Universe! Cheers! 🙂

    1. Glad you like the artwork and thank you so so much for taking the time to leave me a word about it! Hope you have a wonderful day! 🙂

      1. My absolute pleasure! And Thank You! I hope You have a wonderful day as well!!! 😊

About Me

I don’t mind the sun sometimes,
the images it shows,
I can taste you on my lips
and feel you in my clothes.
Cinnamon and sugary
and softly spoken lies,
you never know just how you look
through other people’s eyes
