Around My World In a Tea Daze # 2

Image

No, this is obviously not a picture of tea! But this is another post where I would like to showcase what I am busy doing here on WordPress all day. If my son starts reading while not being even 2 years old, you guys will be to blame!

The picture that you see on top had its creation fully inspired by Bastet and her weekly photo prompt/challenge called Pixelventures. You can find the latest prompt here. Wether you are a photographer, a snapshoter,or whichever attribute you give to yourself and your camera – check it out and take some photos! My photo is for the previous prompt, I know, fashionably late is an understatement for me nowadays.

I love sonnets. I really do. I think they represent the beauty of a form in all it’s glory. Yet I have found that trying to learn them alone did not yield me satisfying result. Consulting online guides did not help me much either, they often feel generic and confuse me. Tim Therien writes awesome sonnets and is hosting a workshop at The 13th Floor Paradigm and if you are interested in sonnets and learning to write them with a real, live person you should defenately give it a look and grab your pen HERE!

Can you say “wonderful writing”? I can and there is a blog that had me saying this and will keep doing so for days on end. The poetry, stories and chapters that I keep finding on this blog remind me of a rainy day, full of dancing in the street, love under a pink umbrella, Earl Grey while being cozy in the living room, a black and white movie that will make you cry in a special way you will never forget. Give a read to Elia Bintang and feel it for yourself!

28th August passed and applications for my Mythology Workshop are now officialy closed yet I am allready reading such fabulous entries. I wanted this person to enter. Ever since I first read an entry on her blog, I felt an ink love, a writers love. Her writing is amazing, it is raw, it is succulent, it is alive – the use of language is wonderfull and the way that she is bare and honest with her everything. She is a wonderfull person as well, one of those for which I curse Fate for not making us be door to door neighbours, class mates or sisters, one of those people that you get to love and cherish even if you have never met them in person. She is mindlovemisery and I am sure you will not regret reading her work and I am sure you will love her as much as me.

Hope you enjoyed the links! If you know of any interesting blogs that I have not yet discovered or you would like me to check out something, the comment section is all yours! ‘Till the next tea, and may coffeine serve you well! 😀

  2. Interesting to see what you’ve been up to! Enjoyed your post and have gone to see the links you’ve mentioned. Thanks for the mention and the great photos.

      1. Definitely very very interesting photo! And have dropped by the links and found them interesting too…thanks again.

      2. I will try to participate in your Pixelventures more often 🙂

      3. you can even just post a snapshot 😉

      4. My husband is a proffessional photographer, he never let’s me do that 😀 He parades behind me and supervises:D

      5. Yeech…would drive me mad I’m afraid…mine is an artist and that’s already a bit much. 🙂

      6. It does drive me crazy sometimes. Sometimes I want snapshots, I want blurry sureal stories, sometimes I just want to be Me with a shitty digital camera – not someone learning to be better 😀

      7. Hmmm…I only have a shitty digital camera a free app and my own eyes.
Tell the truth I did a complete moritorium on all my art work for a long time rather than having to argue for my right to be me. I just got tired of the constant bickering and interference. I don’t mind being someone learning to be better but I want(ed) to go through that process being Me, doing My experiments, not being a reflection of him. Suggestions are fine, but I want to throw then out if I’m not interested without hassel. So, I’ll take blurry surreal any day to perfect someone else. 🙂

  3. I love the idea of your Mythology Workshop. I’ll have to come back and see some more. Great writing!

    1. I am very happy to hear you like the idea, defenately stay tuned, the entries have started to come in and it is 1 fabulous piece after another! Thank you very much for stoping by and taking time to write me a word of your own!

      2. I am finishing a poem for your prompt!I am thinking I should post it tomorrow, I feel like I am spamming everyones reader now that my guests are gone and my house is mine again lol

      3. lol I doubt anyone feels that way (I know I don’t I look forward to your posts =)) though I know what you mean because I worry when I post a lot in the same day too haha I can’t wait to read it!

      4. This is so personal it is taking me places even I forgot existed:D

  6. No one has ever described my writing as beautiful as you did, Oloriel. Thank you very much! 🙂

I’m also a fan of Mindlovemisery’s poetry. In fact, her blog and yours are the only blogs I visit every day (or every two days when I get a little bit busy).

I don’t think I can recommend interesting blogs to you. Every time I visited them, I always saw your likes or comments on their posts. Cubby, BG Bowers, Chatty Owl—they obviously need no introduction… 🙂

    1. I meant every word I wrote, please continue to bless our days with your writing:D

About Me

I don’t mind the sun sometimes,
the images it shows,
I can taste you on my lips
and feel you in my clothes.
Cinnamon and sugary
and softly spoken lies,
you never know just how you look
through other people’s eyes
