To my Goddess, with Love

Image

To my Goddess, with Love

I have knelt before the queen.

Unworthy of her flower

and her sin-washing dew.

With my head bowed

the plague spilled out of me.

I have taken in your offering,

my Celestial Mother,

hands ribboned, gifted outward,

I have consumed your omen.

I choked on your promise

and I vomited your words

into the hollow shell of my heart.

I believed,

when your epiphany reeked of delusion,

when I could no longer see

the pleasure that I sought

inside the pain you have gifted me.

I carried your burden on my sleeve,

like a medal, like a scale,

like a pedestal.

You would arise from the foam

in the early hours of the morning,

your dress a labyrinth of beauty,

unstained white

and you would be the static noise,

the lullaby of innocence,

the humming of the breeze

as I was fleeing so desperately

into sleep’s false comfort.

I have bled in your name and mine

entwined and gracefully,

I let you break me

and reassemble me into carnations

decorating dining tables,

perma red,

unguarded, fragile, vein.

I have knelt before you,

the splendor of Beltaine

coursing through my hair

like a wild stag;

and I have kissed your lilac beds

awaiting execution,

you disarmed me.

Poisonless,

darkness devoid,

I am white

as the cloud of your bosom.

What more do you want from me?

      Kleknula sam pred kraljicu.

      Nedostojna njenog cveta
I njene rose koja ispira grehe.
      Sa glavom u naklonu
      kuga se prolila iz mene.

Uzela sam u sebe tvoj poklon
      moja Celestijalna Majko,
rukama uvijenim u trake, poklonjenim svakome.
(paganski obichaj vezivanja ruku trakama na venchanju)
      Kushala sam tvoje prorochanstvo,
      gushila sam se tvojim obecanjima,
      i povratila sam tvoje rechi
      u praznu ljusku mog srca.

      Verovala sam.
kada se tvoje prosvetljenje osecalo na zabludu,
kada vishe nisam mogla da vidim
      zadovoljstvo koje sam trazila
u bolu koji si mi darovala.
Nosila sam tvoje breme na rukavu,
      kao medalju, kao vagu,
      kao pijedestal.

Ti bi se uzdigla iz pene
      u ranim jutarnjim chasovima,
      tvoja haljina lavirint lepote,
      neuprljano bela,
      i bila bi statichna buka,
      uspavanka nevinosti,
      pevushenje povetarca,
      dok sam ochajnicki bezala
      u varavu utehu sna.

Krvarila sam u tvoje ime i svoje,
      upleteno i graciozno,
pustil sam te da me slomish
i da me nanovo sastavish u karanfile
      koji dekorishu trpezarijske stolove,
      perma crvene,
      nechuvane, lomljive, tashte.

      Kleknula sam pred tebe,
sjaj Beltanea(Paganski praznik za prvi Maj)
      teche kroz moju kosu
      poput divljeg jelena;
i poljubila sam tvoja polja jorgovana
      koja cekaju pogubljenje,
      razoruzala si me.
      Bez otrova u sebi,
      lishena tame,
      bela sam
      kao oblak tvog naruchja.

      Sta josh zelish od mene?

*Nadam se da se snaga nije izgubila na prevodjenju 😀

    ::::enjoy:::::

  8. This is so beautiful! I read it twice but this is the type of poetry that needs to be studied. There are so many metaphors in this poem and it is such a beautiful piece of work. It is art in writing. Thank you for your work.

    • Thank you very much for stoping by and leaving a comment, means a lot to me and thank you aswell for taking time to feel the images I have tried to portray with my words.

  9. ‘with the plague spilled out of me’ terrific line, great poem 🙂

  10. Teško se čita u ovom crvenom fontu.. Ali sadržaj ne razočarava…

  11. Your poetry speaks directly to the soul. I have no words. Simply put: Wow.

    • Thank you for leaving me a word of your own, it means a lot to me and even more when I get to know a poem of mine managed to stir something inside of you. It is a great gift that I cherish and am glad we share.
